Planting Truths from Indigenous Perspectives

This site plants truths to help root out and kill outright lies and lies of omission, taught about American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians. It is concerning that these perpetual lies continue to permeate the minds and lives of American citizens. Test these arguments by considering the information on this interactive web site. We recommend reading through the brief "How to Use" directions below before you begin.

How to Use this Web Site

  • Firstly, the Allusions page is the featured artist's work with implied or indirect references literature calls allusions. According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary, an allusion is "the act of making an indirect reference to something; the act of alluding to something." To help you access what we researched, we bolded all the phrases, terms, names, historical references, and allusions to texts or movies or videos, or any other references that we recognized as an allusion or that we think might be an allusion in the sections transcribed from the source's original work.
  • Secondly, (on the Read and Watch pages) we researched the bolded key-terms using broad nonselective search-tools like Google and using selective and scholarly search-tools. Sources are weighted toward the scholarly and academic sources, with less information coming from general online search-tools. Each Read and Watch page will have a HOME button (sample here) that returns you back to the Allusions page. (This button is an example and has no active link.)

  • Once we’ve identified and explained the material, we link you to the References page or resources that we found. In creation of this web site in 2022, we have kept track of all credible and relevant material that we located and came across in our research of the Artists' allusions.
    • Each word/phrase that we research links to words/phrases in the actual featured, authentic sources.
    • Our notes identify the reference and include any important quotations or information from sources we found while researching it.
    • In general, our explanatory annotations are 100 words or less, but could sometimes be much more depending on the amount of material we needed to include.

Test Arguments

  • Everyone else has named the American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian and mis-told our story for long enough. Today, we are living in a unique self-determination era of American Indians' "land-back"  and "story back" movements. This web site uncovers real histories, current status and future possibilities of and for our Indigenous peoples who transformed and continue to positively impact the world.
  • Race is a human convention. This project will help reveal that American Indians are not a race of people, but nations of people with government-to-government relations with the U.S. government.
  • This is not an easy walk. Information on this website may not be easy to read or watch; nor has our Indigenous' walk been easy. We all learn through suffering. Time to reduce the suffering don't you agree?

Good Intentions

Wuyeepuyôq. We come in a good way. Our goal with this decolonizing project is to enrich your experiences of our Indigenous books, music, films, foods and more and to enhance your authentic understanding, acceptance and acknowledgment of truths.

NewTribeRising.org includes vetted resources, books, historical photos, award winning videos, transcripts, definitions, endnotes and annotations. This site is easy to use and dive into the historical facts, cultural enlightenments and literary allusions.

NewTribeRising.org is an educational resource available to teachers, families and the general public. This web site is inspired by Spirit and created to encourage education, healing, forgiveness, reconciliation and unification.

The suicide and suffering can stop. Let’s help each other. Let’s start  with reflection and sitting at an Indigenous sovereignty-table to discuss  and learn about these issues. Together, we can begin to close the wounds.

The world is watching.
Mitákuye Oyásʼiŋ. To all our relations.

Our Vision.
  • Our vision for this project is to enrich your experience of information that we discovered and to enhance your understanding of this material.
  • As students and American Indians we are striving to raise awareness, trigger debate and prompt positive changes for our Indigenous Peoples and communities in the United States.
